Writing Helps Close Wounds

Even though it seems like what we’re writing doesn’t make sense, by writing without filters, we’ll let all our thoughts out and we can come back to them in the future.

Writing helps me to express everything that goes on inside me. The pain, the disappointment, the sadness, the anguish…

I know it’s just a mere sheet of paper and a pencil, but it becomes so liberating that I can’t help but do it.

Has this already happened to you? Does writing serve you as a way to vent? Ink that turns into what your inside screams. Words that go by telling stories that are left behind…

write about emotions

Almost everyone needs to vent, say what they feel,  talk about what happens to them. However, writing is not the same as talking.

When you start covering that blank sheet with thoughts that crowd your brain, everything starts to make sense.

Don’t forget that when we’re down and the world comes crashing down on us, we’re plunged into chaos that’s nearly impossible to get out of.

The wide variety of emotions that appear and make us assume and worry excessively, that liberating cry, but that doesn’t satisfy us entirely…

Writing not only helps you put those disastrous ideas on paper, it also  allows you to sort them out, give them meaning you never thought you could find.

Think, for example, that you are going through a very painful stage in your love relationships.

You are not able to know what happens to you. You just feel, despair, end up filled with anxiety and doubt. What’s happening to me? Write…

Once all the words are on the paper, you can read them as many times as you need.  Then you will find out what was really going on.

You may find that you are suffering from emotional dependency, that you are accepting a situation that you don’t like, that you are with someone you don’t want to be with.

These written thoughts will reveal the crudest of realities. However, thanks to them, you will be able to find a way back to calm.

Accelerate the healing process

Every negative experience causes us a deep wound. The longer we ignore it, the bigger it will become.

That’s why it’s so important to write. Then you will realize what is really happening.

It doesn’t matter if the previous example isn’t one of your problems. The death of a loved one, a dismissal from work, an argument… All these circumstances deserve your release in words.

Because this habit will not only allow you to see what is happening to you with greater clarity, but it will also speed up the healing process.

Every word is like a balm to your wound. This is because, when writing, we release tension, stress and anxiety.

Many people can’t write good stories or deep poems if they don’t have their emotions running high.

This is because during this state everything flows better. Words come easily; for  it is not our logic that speaks, but our feelings.

Those that need to be expressed, in some way, through meaningless words or incoherent phrases.

write expressively

If you’ve practiced this way of writing but haven’t gotten the right results, maybe it’s because you haven’t followed expressive writing.

There are many individuals who, when writing, think a lot; they want to build coherent sentences, they want everything to be explained well.

It’s not about this. Writing expressively is stamping everything that goes on in your mind. No additives, no formulas… Just let the chaos out.

It doesn’t matter if what you write doesn’t make any sense, it will when you get back to your words. That’s when you’ll realize what’s happening to you.

If you still can’t come up with a precise meaning, let a few days go by and return to those words. Given time and space, you will be able to see from another perspective what was happening to you.
