How To Prepare A Salad Pizza?

So that the salad pizza does not lose its freshness, it is essential that we add the vegetables when removing the pizza from the oven. Otherwise, the result will not be the same.

Currently, salad pizza is one of the most striking variants of this meal. Initially it was conceived as a healthy alternative, to encourage people to eat in a balanced way and, above all, not to be seen in a way incompatible with vegetables, greens and legumes, and  fast foods .

The following recipes include some of the most popular exponents within the salad pizza idea. As we will see shortly, some include a special salad in the topping, while others incorporate vegetables, both in the pasta and in the sauce. Now, the big advantage of these pizza versions is that they help us to take advantage of vegetables in many ways, in a very pleasant way.

Ingredients for dough

  • Olive oil
  • Various cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml)
  • 1 medium onion (40 g)
  • 2 ½ cups of flour (300 g)
  • 1 can of tomato sauce (300 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of yeast (30 g)
  • 1 small lettuce sprout
  • Condiments: salt, black pepper, oregano
  • To taste: pitted black olives, anchovies

Preparation

  1. First, sift the flour. Then place it in a bowl, and add the two tablespoons of yeast.
  2. Then make a hole in the center, and pour in a drizzle of olive oil. Add a little water (at room temperature), and mix with the help of a mixer. You must form a sufficiently consistent and smooth dough.
  3. Afterwards, let the dough stand at room temperature for 40 minutes. To do this, you must put it in a container with a lid.
  4. On the other hand, preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  5. Take a pinch of flour and sprinkle your hands to knead the dough. You should perform this procedure until you get some elasticity. We can also use a kitchen roll.
  6. Lightly grease a pan with a little olive oil, and place the pizza dough in it. Then bake for approximately 10 or 15 minutes.
  7. Then, peel and cut the onion into rings. Reserve.
  8. After 15 minutes, and when the dough is browned on both sides, spread the tomato sauce over the dough with the help of a spoon.
  9. Afterwards, sprinkle a touch of black pepper, salt and fresh oregano all over the surface. Then add the onion rings, olives and anchovies.
  10. Put the pizza in the oven for another 7 or 10 minutes, approximately.
  11. Once it’s ready, we take the pizza out of the oven and let it cool a little at room temperature for a few minutes.
  12. Meanwhile, cut the cherry tomatoes in half and the lettuce leaves into medium pieces.
  13. Finally, put the cherry tomatoes and lettuce on the pizza, and that’s it! Is ready!

Ingredients

  • Olive oil
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml)
  • 2 ½ cups of flour (300 g)
  • 1 can of tomato sauce (300 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of yeast (30 g)
  • 5 cups of mozzarella cheese (about 500 g)
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese (100 g)
  • 1 tray of cured ham or prosciutto (about 150 g)
  • Condiments: salt, black pepper, fresh parsley
  • Arugula leaves (enough to cover the pizza)
  • Optional: fresh garlic, spinach leaves

Preparation

  1. First, prepare the pizza dough first, and let it sit for at least half an hour before you start kneading it.
  2. Afterwards, after half an hour has elapsed, knead and mold the base of the pizza.
  3. Then preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  4. In addition, grease a baking sheet with a little oil and place the dough in it. Then bake for 12 minutes to brown on both sides.
  5. Meanwhile, in a bowl, pour in the tomato sauce, and continue to season it. When it’s done, we add it to the dough, and put the cheese on top.
  6. On the other hand, cut the ham into thin strips, and set aside.
  7. Then, put the pizza in the oven for another 10 minutes to melt the cheese and integrate the rest of the ingredients.
  8. Finally, after the indicated time, we take the pizza out of the oven and let it rest for a few minutes at room temperature, before adding the arugula leaves and the ham.
