The following recipe contains a splash of lemon juice, but you can substitute a few orange slices for it. You can also consume without any kind of citrus fruit; as you wish.

Ingredients

  • ½ lemon.
  • 1 cinnamon stick.
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml).
  • Fresh ginger (to taste).
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon of honey (5 g).

Preparation

  • To start with, wash the ginger root thoroughly and grate it.
  • Then bring a cup of water to a boil and add the grated ginger and cinnamon.
  • Simmer for about 10 minutes. Cover the container.
  • Meanwhile, wash the lemon and extract its juice. Reserve.
  • Turn off the heat, strain the drink and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Add lemon juice and strain.
  • Serve and drink in moderation.
  • If you want to add honey, use it sparingly. Adding more than a teaspoon is not recommended.

*Important note: avoid consuming more than 2 or 3 cups a day.
